Quarter 1 is over!!

Hey guys! What a relief I am feeling right now. My 1st quarter of ultrasound school is over. Only 7 more to go! Still a lot. I took my finals today. I feel like I did okay. Now I wait to see my final grades. Hopefully I will get them in an e-mail on Friday. Will let you know how it went! My mom came up last Friday and stayed until Tuesday. Saturday, we decorated the livingroom. Actually... I picked everything out, Mom and Brad hung the things on the wall and arranged it just so. I burnt a fire while they were arranging everything. As soon as I find my camera in a box somewhere, I will take some pictures and post them for ya'll to see. I am really proud of my living room. Well, I will update you guys again later. God Bless!!!

Hello! I might be Back!

Well, its been 2 months since I have even been on the site. A lot has happened in those two months though. I am moved to Birmingham. I live on the Wheeler compound in the middle of the woods. I love it. It is so quiet. Two of my five cats are here and the other three live with Brad. The house is a 3 BR/2 BA. But it is huge. It is about 2000 sq. ft. I miss Brad though. We haven't seen each other hardly any since I moved. But, it will be better soon. I have started school. Actually, the end of the first quarter is March 25. But it is going well. I finally, after two months have a job again. Now I am trying to adjust to school and work. I am off every weekend so that is a good thing. As soon as my paychecks start coming in (next week), Brad and I should be able to see each other every weekend. That will be much better than every 2 or even 3 weeks. So that is an update on my life. I will try, now that things are getting settled, to do better about posting.

I hope that everyone had a great Christmas! I had a wonderful Christmas this year. It was a little weird because neither of my brothers were here. Brian is in Germany and doesn't get home until a week from Sunday. Stephen and Leanne live in Florida. They are getting to come up next week for a few days. But still all was much quieter at Mom's on Christmas Day. Mammaw, Mom, Daddy, Brad and I had a wonderful roast dinner with chocolate pie for dessert. Then we opened our gifts. Everybody got at least one thing they wanted (Mom and Dad included). Mine and Brad's best gift though were the Rooms to Go gift cards. We went yesterday and Rooms to Go had a sale. One of the sets of furniture we were originally looking at was marked way down. We got it for about 400 dollars cheaper than the price quoted originally. I am so excited. We get to pick it up next week. It was great though to be with family and enjoy spending time with each other. Can't wait till the brothers get in town next week. That's a sentence I never thought I would say. Until next time... God bless!

Just a Quick Update

Some exciting but yet really scary news happened Friday!! I got my official acceptance letter into the ultrasound program at Virginia College in Birmingham! All of the sudden I feel overwhelmed. I have barely over a month until I move and I havent even started packing yet. I will be out of town next week and that takes a week off of precious packing time. The scary part is that this is such a big step and a lot of money put out. I don't want to let myself or Brad down. Another thing that has me really I guess saddened right now is that Brad is not going to be able to move with me for a while. He has a wonderful job that God has blessed him with. We have to be able to keep his paycheck for a while to get the bills paid off and meet the school payments. So for now it will be weekend commutes between Birmingham and Mobile for one of us. Every time I think about it, I want to cry. But I know that God will help us and give us strength through this tough time. Hopefully within a year our bills will be paid and he will be able to move. Help us to pray to that end!! God bless all, See you after Thanksgiving!!!

Really will do better one day!!

Hello to all! I know it has been a while, but it has been VERY busy down here in L.A. (Lower Alabama). I have finally finished all of my interviews for school and should know a final decision this week!! Really help me pray for that. For a few weeks before the election, Brad was really worried about his job. As much as we liked McCain, he said something about putting an end to the LCS program. These are ships his company builds for the Navy. Thankfully, they have opened bids back up on these boats, but in the meantime the company won a huge contract with the Navy for another kind of boat which could mean a pretty good raise! The Lord does answer our prayers. This past weekend, I turned 24 without my loving husband around. He was off to Macon, MO to hunt deer with his dad. I guess it wasn't SO bad though. He dropped me off in Cape Girardeau to spend a nice weekend with Brad, Gillian and JuJu. We had a great time relaxing and of course going to a couple of thrift stores. By the way, thanks to Gillian for adding all my little tools to this blog. Also, thanks for making it look cute. Also, thanks for the hospitality and the birthday cake. My husband was able to kill an 8 point buck, so I now, thankfully, have meat overflowing into my Mom's deep freeze. Well, I must go to bed. I will be back on soon. Probably after Thanksgiving, with pictures from Grandma and Grandad Whaley's 50th anniversary.

Well, it has now been 2 wks and I've already forgotten I even had this site (I'm gonna be great at this huh?)LOL! Last weekend, we went to Pleasant Grove. We stayed with Rachel and Duke and cute little Carson. While there I had an interview for Virginia College's diagnostic medical ultrasound program. I feel like the interview went very well. We were really struggling to figure out how to pay for a program that is almost triple what I would pay for here, but God is really opening some doors. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks, Brad will have a job making almost double what he makes now! Thank the Lord for answering prayers! We will be moving to Birmingham area shortly after Christmas as long as I am accepted into the program. We attended Pleasant Grove Church Sunday morning and had a wonderful service. God settled down and refreshed our souls. We are so thankful! Stephen was finally able to get a job and they bought a little house. They are very excited. Tropical Storm Fay, thankfully was not too bad here. We had coastal flooding and that's about it. Pray for us as Hurricane Gustav heads into the Gulf. We are in the projected path cone right now, though it looks like it will hit around New Orleans or Mississippi. But we all know that can change when hits the gulf. We will see. Well, that is all till next time!

New to This

Well, this is the first time that I have ever done a blog or anything like this! I am not the most diligent person about getting on and wirting stuff or posting pics. But I will try for the sake of my friends. Brad and I are doing great. I am taking a break from full time school for one semester and am working full time at a hospital here as a unit secretary. I work 3-12 hr. nightshifts a week. I work on postpartum so I am around babies all the time. Brad works for a shipyard here. They work hard and long hours. So, needless to say, we don't see each other a whole lot. But we make do. We are probably fixing to make a move from Mobile, AL to Birmingham, AL in December, Lord willing. I have applied for an ultrasound program there and go to my school interview this week. I am excited to see what is in store for us. We have no kids, just 4 spoiled rotten cats. And momma cat is pregnant again I think(oh joy!!). For those of you who know him, my little brother Stephen got married in a beautiful little ceremony on July 19 (that I had to direct-ugh!!). Him and LeAnne are living in Port St. Lucie, FL. Well, will close for now. Will try to post some pics soon and keep up with written posts as well!
